Its been cold at night here, in the high 30s. But today again I saw a birdie. Before that I hadn't seen any for two days; and the two days before that, one bird (I think) each day. It may be that the one I saw today was an immature male, but I can't be sure. Three days ago I'm pretty sure I saw a stripy throat, darker head and a few darker breast feathers which I think means an immature male. Maybe a migrant? But anyway, there was still the one at the feeder this morning. I was astonished. A full week later than last year!
