Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 10/06/2014

Number: 33

After a night of cold temperatures in the high 30's today's temperatures warmed up to the low 50's. There was a strong Southwest wind with wind gusts up to 18 mph. I spotted 33 monarchs in 45 minutes. The monarchs were struggling with the wind which was so strong the monarchs remained mostly on the golden rod, frequently getting blown off and struggling to fly back. Tonight's temperatures are expected to be in the low 50's.
