One juvenile RT female came to the feeder this morning between 8 am and 8:30. Her first feeding was lengthy--she stayed on the feeder sipping frequently for 3-5 minutes. The next feeding was about 15 minutes later and was shorter although she also checked out the hanging basket petunias (almost out of bloom.) She then flew off to the south. This was the only hummer action at my flowers or feeders today. Pleased to see the visitors but I am surprised by the late migration this year....I hope that the later dates do not put the birds at added risk during migration.
Weather this am--51 F low but 59 F during the sightings and high of 74 F, sunny, breezes around 10 mph this morning going near calm by dusk
