Found a 5th instar during my morning run on young milkweed growth. The area was near the end of a driveway on an acreage near a rural road and had been mowed in the middle of August. Since it was cold and wet with little prospect of 70-80 degree weather, I brought it home to develop inside. Since yesterday morning (Oct. 7) it is a chrysalis, hopefully undergoing further development.
