The monarchs were nectaring on the goldenrod in the dunes all day today. Our team walked up and down the beach road looking for roosting and found a few places with groups of butterflies, 25, 50, 75, 2, 10 … that totaled close to 300 but no one large aggregation was found. It was fairly warm last night and many of the monarchs were roosting singularly also. Hoping that the ones spotted up north today will travel this way soon.
