Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/09/2014

Number: 150

At least 150 Monarchs still nectaring and resting in our yard. Yesterday I saw four pairs mating. Most are perfect and beautiful. I suspect most will be moving on when a cold front moves into the area tomorrow night. This evening we counted nearly 100 roosting in our yaupon holly trees and our neighbor's live oak. We saw two clusters of 30+ and many other smaller groups. I have never seen this many in my yard since I started mu butterfly gardein in 1995. This is amazing!
