I live on a creek in a wooded neighborhood. I went out to work in the yard and saw some Monarchs flying by me and followed them down to the creek and there they were, flying all around me and landing on all the bushes and tall grass. I ran and got my camera and started taking pictures and they were not disturbed by me walking in amongst them. I have been to a butterfly house in St. Louis, Mo and it was even better than that because there were so many. As an old Science teacher, it was awesome to see them in such numbers.
Today, 10/10/2014, I went down and they were still there, but not in such numbers, around 25-30.
