Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 10/11/2014

Number: 1

I observed what I believe is the adult female Ruby Throat-ed Hummer sipping from my sugar feeder for a few seconds, maybe a minute. I think this is the same female that showed up here at the beginning of the month. I have not noticed the red throat of the male, so I am assuming she is hanging around here to build up her strength before continuing South for the winter. I don't know, maybe she'll stay, but there doesn't seem to be too many long-lasing nectar sources here at this time.
