We first started seeing Monarchs eating at the butterfly bush in our front yard at 9:45 am and usually saw at least one or two every time we looked over the next 6 hours or so during the day. We counted at least 8, though there may have been more. They would fly in from the north to eat and then fly on towards the south when finished eating.
