This morning at 8am I spotted a female hummingbird in the feeder outside my kitchen window. The temperature was in the thirties just above freezing. I assume this is the same female I have seen over the past week. I am hoping she is building her stamina and will soon depart for warmer climates. She is very healthy looking so I guess she is off to a late start.
