Very surprised to see a late straggler in afternoon. Feeding on stick verbena. I have not seen any for quite a while. Black veining much thicker than the Monarchs I saw about a month earlier and the body was often sticking out over the wings rather than staying tucked underneath. Does veining differ with weather, geographic location or other factors?
