Checked my garden shortly after 12pm to find 3 monarchs on my small butterfly bush feeding at the same time. Observed up to 4 at once and a total of at least 5 different butterflies for the afternoon come through. As of 6pm there were still 3 around. Got a call from my mom who lives about 10 miles north of me and she reported having 3 on her butterfly bush this afternoon also. Temperature was about 65 degrees and the wind was 5-10 mph out of the south most of the day so I think they were doing some heavy refueling until favorable winds let them continue on their journey. Such a privilege to see such beauty and wonder all at once.
