Between the rains this week I have had a steady stream of individual monarchs stopping to nectar. Some are getting tagged others are not simply because I prefer to allow them plenty of time to fuel up before I attempt to net and tag. Not all are leaving as I see a few wild ones I have tagged these past few weeks return to feed time and again.
The photo is of a wild male who has taken up residence in my garden for the past week. He is well worn but fights any males that attempted to stop at his favorite plants.
