My first fall migrant on October 1st, just outside my study off the porch in my garden. The Orb Weaver web was started on construction wire fencing, in place to excluded our overly abundant white-tailed and exotic deer, and anchored on the front part of a Salvia greggii.
I took the web down that morning but when I came home around 4pm, it had been partially rebuilt. I took it down again and part of it was back up in the AM.
The Orb Weaver was relocated across the crushed granite driveway to a Quercus sinuata var. sinuata motte where the neighborhood is more conducive for a Orb Weaver web.
