We planted 75 red emperor tulips in our test garden today. It was 56 degrees, partly cloudy and windy with a north wind of 14 mph. We had rain in the early morning so the ground was damp. We did encounter quite a few worms. The geese were gathering in the pond to migrate. Most of the leaves have changed color here. We live in a valley so we are wondering if spring will arrive here sooner or later than neighboring test sites.
