Another Sighting of a tagged Monarch in the West!

Another Pacific Northwest Monarch has been sighted in California!

This time a Monarch tagged by Linda K in Applegate, southern Oregon flew about 270 miles south to San Mateo in California (south of San Francisco) where it was photographed nectaring on Lantana by Albert Wong (https://www.facebook.com/#!/MonarchButterfliesInThePacificNorthwest) Tagged on 9/30, seen on 10/10, It took 10 days to fly 270 miles

This individual could be heading to one of the overwintering colonies around Santa Cruz and Pacific Grove…so watch out for it!
