Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/14/2014

Number: 106

Eight of us did a butterfly survey at Cibolo Nature Center in Boerne and saw 106 monarchs between 9:30 and 3:30 with a break from 12:30 to 1:30 for lunch. Most of the monarchs were sailing southward, a few (10 or so) were nectaring on Frostweed (Verbesina virginica)and 1 was on a Maximilian Sunflower (Helianthus maximiliani). A most enjoyable day for all!
