Driving route 11 miles among farm fields in flood plain of Rio Grande between Hatch and Derry. Stopping at pull offs and intersections of Rio Grande and bridges. No Monarchs seen in flight. Saw a tattered Queen nectaring at wildflowers in riparian zone of Rio Grande River. Many sulfur butterflies in the fields of alfalfa.
