Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/15/2014

Number: 100

Well, it seems that the monarchs got a little delayed. I expected Monday (10/13) to be a great day, turns out Monday and Tuesday were busts with only a couple visible during my travels in and around Austin.

Today Wednesday (10/15), I saw close to a hundred flitting around the city. This morning, I had an assistant with great eyesight, together we spotted 30 Monarchs on a 20 minute drive from central to northwest Austin. Later in the day they were nearly constant one or two visible nectaring on flowers in different gardens I was tending. Conditions have been perfect with north winds and clear skies.

Keep ‘em coming
