Monarchs arrive on the Border w. Mexico
Saw my first migrants this morning about 11.

Monarchs continued to stream through, but the count is light. I did a monarch count from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and saw a steady flow of 1 every minute or so for an hour's total of 30. Only twice did I see 2 in a single minute. The light flow began just about noon, with several showing up at the same time around 11a.m. These are all arriving from due N or at most 15° off that compass point. For a heading of 195°. With a very light breeze from SSE between 3-8mph (occasional puff, but hardly a gust!) Monarchs traveling 6-12' agl. and zooming up over the occasional 25' tree.
