Spotted 1 female ruby hummer and 1 juvenile male both drinking nectar at different feeders in the front yard. Very surprised to see the male... He was feeding at my kitchen window and I was able to get a clear view of his emerging colored plumage in the neck area!!! I was quite shocked!!!
Before they were spotted, I could definitely hear them!!! I downloaded from I-Tunes hummingbird sounds as well as blue jay, chickadee, tufted titmouse, and cardinal sounds and I have been amazed how these birds will physically and vocally respond!! It caused my female hummer to start buzzing around the yard and being sure her feeders were protected. She quickly then settled on a tree limb to be sure she had an excellent view of her nectar!!!! She would turn her neck in different directions as to see if she could spot the new hummer!!!! ;)
