5:15 pm, I have been observing 2 adult Monarchs taking nectar from tropical milkweed flowers, floating around 2 big patches of milkweed plants, occasionally taking nectar from blue plumbago. No interest at all in the many blooming hibiscus, nor the profusely blooming cleome. The Monarchs have been feeding for at least 30 minutes. Occasionally they go high in a nearby oak to sit.
