Date: 10/14/2014

Number: 11

Eleven monarchs scattered over three days of observing between 9 to 11 a.m. and 4:30 to 6 p.m. along the Colorado River near Parker. They would feed on lantana or other garden plants in the area and then fly south along the Colorado. Those seen in the evening would spend the night in nearby trees and leave the next morning. The latest monarch sighted came off the river at 6:15 p.m. after sunset. During this trip monarchs were NOT seen in Lake Havasu although there were earlier reports to SW Monarch Study. Monarchs are still moving through the area.
