On Wednesday, October 22 2014 our fourth grade class planted 4 control tulip bulbs and 22 experimental bulbs. Before we planted, our tulip bed had many weeds and milkweed that we had to pull out. The weather was mostly sunny and about 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The soil was hard and moist towards the bottom of the holes we dug. The soil also felt cold. We used rulers to plant the tulip bulbs 7 inches deep and 4 inches apart. We found many worms as we dug holes in the soil. We look forward to seeing our tulips emerge and bloom in the spring.
