Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 10/24/2014

Number: 12

I have seen Monarchs for weeks. I noticed one would fly by every 3 to 5 minutes. I laid on the ground and watched them last weekend; they are beautiful from that vantage point. We didn't mow the back lawn for a few weeks so some wildflowers popped up. I saw the Monarchs lighting on the flowers today - 10 to 12 at a time would be feeding on the various flower patches. They stayed for quite some time. They are a little hard to recognize when the wings are together; they look more like a black leaf sticking up.
