At approximately 2 p.m. I spotted a Monarch flying lazily above my head as I was outside painting. The weather was unusually warm with a high of 81 degrees. The Monarch was headed in an easterly direction. I was surprised to see one this late and concerned as the weather forecast is to turn very cold with a slight chance of snow in 4 days.
Additionally, I saw a Monarch flying in Roanoke (just a few miles from my house) later this afternoon. Why are they still here?
