Two hummingbirds were seen flying near the intersection of I271 and 422 October 23, 2014. The last hummingbirds seen at my feeder was on September 23 when I saw two male and three female ruby-throats. On September 26, a rufous hummingbird sat on the back of a patio chair as my husband and I were seated at the patio table. This was our only sighting of a rufous at our home in Aurora, located 5 miles from where the October sighting took place. The bird was feeding on a native red honeysuckle which has blooms until winter.
