I'm not your usual watcher, but the map in the recent National Geographic didn't list Indiana, and I thought I should mention that we did have some. We saw them in trees in a wind break along the fence line of a field. It was a bit early for roosting, but a storm was brewing. We rode horseback along the fence line and the butterflies came tilting out of the tree and then went back again. Lovely!
My numbers are all guesses. I'm terrible at counting moving objects.
