Despite several hours of observation each day I have not seen any Monarch Butterflies at Clearville Park since October 20th. Lots of Painted Ladies and a few migrating dragon flies is all I've seen. The weather in the latter half of October has been cold with unfavourable wind conditions but there have been a few days in the mid 60s with light north winds.
This area experienced exceptionally good migration conditions from Sept 15th until September 30th (warm sunny days with north-east winds). Based on my observations at Clearville Park I presume that the majority of Monarchs made it south of 42 degrees latitude by October 1.
