Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/13/2014

Number: 200

This year the Monarchs have been slow to pass through Bronte. A cold front came this way around October 13th. Then we began to see more of our little visitors. Maybe several hundred butterflies were estimated in the main roost in the northeast corner of town one evening. Most of the Monarchs just passed on by without roosting overnight. We are still (10/31) seeing occasional butterflies making their way down south to Mexico. We are still are in a drought although we have seen more rain this year than the last several years.
