Sightings report image

Date: 11/12/2014

Number: 1

On the 11th of November, the lakes in our area were pretty well ice-free. The next day, Nov. 12 these lakes were pretty well frozen over. The Snow Geese have gone from Tyrrell Lake. Some of the lakes had small, open water areas where a few Canada Geese and Mallards are gathering. Temperatures have been dipping to the minus twenties, with highs to the minus low teens during the day and wind-chills to the minus thirties which explains the sudden conversion to ice-covered lakes. And winter is still 5 weeks away!
