Tulips PLANTED
Sightings report image

Date: 11/15/2014

Number: 1

After learning about Journey North and tulips and dissecting bulbs,a group of local children, ages 5-10, planted two Tulip Test Gardens. The gardens are located at the James H. Barrow Field Station, part of Hiram College. These citizen scientists followed all the planting guidelines but added bonemeal to one of the gardens to see if those tulips will bloom sooner or if they will be bigger. They braved the cold and snow and planted about 80 bulbs. They hope to have lots to share in the spring!
