Friday, Nov. 14 was overcast and threatening to rain, but the temperature was a lovely 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Each of the 140 third grade students at Stansbury Park ES quickly planted a tulip bulb about 7" deep in the freshly turned earth in front of our school. We found LOTS of left-over bulbs already in the ground, even though last year's third graders dug up their bulbs. We took the old bulbs out, but wonder where they all came from and if there are more still in the ground. If there are more than 140 tulips next spring will that mean that we missed some?
