11/22/14 I released my last monarch. She was found as a 4th instar 10/25/14. Long story to this one but after emerging I had to keep & feed her due to frigid cold temps of 15f/-10c. With a 3-day warm up 10-15c/50-60f & some sun & being in Canada, USDA permit being challenging I chose to release her & plan A didn't work out so she was released south of Amherstburg, Ontario ( an hour drive west from me with of Lake Erie to cross). I left her with her fave watermelon & nectar soaked cotton balls to give her freedom & a chance to migrate to Mexico. please watch for Polka Dot- tag TJY 881. Bon Voyage pretty one!!
