Bulbs arrived late and the ground was beginning to freeze. I used a cordless drill and bulb auger, and a long-handled bulb planter to put bulbs in ground., which was partly frozen. I covered the bulbs with several bags of coffee grounds. Kids from the Alaska Native Cultural Charter School helped to plant. One of the garden locations, the Nunaka Valley Elementary site, is one of the coldest spots in town, so it will be interesting to compare with other garden sites in Anchorage.
