Hummingbird Sighting (Adult Male)
Sightings report image

Date: 11/29/2014

Number: 2

Only my neighbours and we have feeders and the hummers seemed to be used to us. In the morning when we hang the feeder back outside the hummers hover around without fear. This time I have been able to photograph only two of them (male and female) but so far we have counted four of them -they chase one another and tweet very loudly. I have learned that hummers are very individualistic and do not share their territory easily. Yesterday was one of the coldest days and nights so far and the nectar froze quickly due to the freezing wind. We decided to wrap the feeder with bubble wrap - not very attractive but they are still coming to feed (Nov 30, 2014)
