It was in the 50's outside, and we were expecting snow the next day. We used room temerature top soil to cover our bulbs because the frost had already begun to seep into the ground. We planted in barrels within our school garden. Each child planted 1 bulb, 39 total. We covered the tops of the barrels with deer netting to keep the squirrels out over the winter.
