On Dec. 13, 2014 at 11:30 am I visited the Ardenwood Historic Farm autumnal and overwintering cluster site in Fremont, Calif. in the San Francisco Bay area. Here is a nine minute video showing two gravid female monarchs laying eggs, three caterpillars and one chrysalid in the tropical milkweed (Gomphocarpus fruticosa)
garden that has been planted near the blue gum eucalyptus cluster trees. Video also shows hundreds of monarchs flying and dozens clustered in the cluster area only a stones throw away from the tropical milkweed garden.
