Bald Eagle

Date: 01/19/2015

Number: 1

At 8:30 AM on 1/19/15, I saw a bald eagle on Meadow Lake in Flushing Meadow Park. The lake was frozen and the eagle was standing on the ice and eating a seagull. There were two crows watching the eagle eat the seagull. There were also 2 other seagulls around 20 yards away and many Canadian Geese on the frozen lake around 100 feet away. I watched the eagle eat the seagull for around 30 minutes and then the eagle walked about 3 feet away and the 2 crows stepped in and started to eat the leftovers. The eagle let them eat and was watching quietly. About 10 minutes later, the eagle went back to the meal and the crows stepped aside. The eagle took one more bite and then flew away to the south end of lake. One crow followed the eagle.
