Tulips EMERGED
Sightings report image

Date: 02/07/2015

Number: 1

We have enjoyed a very mild winter so far, with very few days below freezing. The mean temperature recorded for January was 5.8 degrees Celsius (the warmest temp recorded was 12.9 degrees and the coldest was -2.7). The garden is located just 500 metres from the ocean and is about 40 metres above sea level. We had a very light dusting of snow overnight and we noticed that 3 of the 26 bulbs that we had planted have begun to emerge!! With warm temperatures expected to continue, it will be interesting to see how the tulips develop.
