I saw a male adult Monarch butterfly in Rancho San Diego at 1:50pm. I also saw 2 more Monarch butterflies in Rancho San Diego at 1pm. One of them was definitely a male butterfly.
I also wanted to note that we had a swarm of painted lady butterflies that were flying individually up the mountain. It was a hot day and they were flying all around the house.
