Today I was outside putting out seed for what seemed to be every bird in my county when I saw about 7 robins crowding around my two-tier pond/fountain that we keep running and heated for wildlife. I saw another 7 or so in the holly trees feasting on berries. Lots of bird poop is in our patio. Temps last night were down to minus 2 here in PA with only a high of 15 or so during the day. Tonight we are expecting 2-5 inches of snow and highs only getting into the 20s. I will be putting out some organic apples for the robins tomorrow. If I and my neighbors didn't put out food and water, I have to wonder how these small creatures would survive.
