A male robin very puffed up in -4 degree temperature with snow on ground. Sat on my deck railing (I do not have a tree) hunkered down and thinking. Since I had just returned in the night from a trip there was no food on the ground and the bath was dry except for ice an inch in all around. I filled that and put out special seed with mulberries and dates and raising in it. I saw him 4 diff. times during the day, and he liked the crushed peanuts I put on top of the snow. He seemed to really need what I gave him and will be back tomorrow I think. Another storm is bringing more snow tonight and tomorrow. This is the first year I have had a robin.
