when I was a child there were thousands flying over covering the sky from about 2 hours before and 1 hour after sunset. I was just beginning to wonder why I had not seen a single bird when a small wave landed in my back yard. There have been several hundred robins of the past couple of days. I see them everywhere, but not like when I was a child.
