Number: 5000
Came through in droves. They're feeding on ripe palm berries and getting drunk. Many have flown into my neighbor's slightly mirrored windows near the ocean.
The robins came in a few smaller numbers, 20s and 30s for a few days early in February.
A few days later there were hundreds, then thousands, literally everywhere. 5000? Maybe, hard to say really, but if you drove the length of the Jacksonville Beaches, maybe 8 miles, you'd see them from one end to the other. Palm berries are everywhere and they're eating pyracantha berries and holly, too.
My wife works in Jacksonville, FL, 25 miles away and she says they are 'thick' there too.
They have remained here for nearly three weeks (2/26) and show no signs of letting up. They came to the beachside cities first. The next week we spotted many in Jacksonville, FL, USA area.
