Heard chirping throngs when I went to pick up my newspaper this morning. Thought it might be Starlings nearby, but was a bit more melodious. After I filled my feeders and put out unfrozen water in a small (10") container, I came in and they descended en mass to the water dish! I quickly filled another pan with warm water and put it in an actual birdbath out back. They immediately crowded around that water too! For about an hour they drank and flipped leaves looking for food. A crowd of Cedar Waxwings came in too! Could this be a beginning for Spring?
