Hummingbird, Other Species Sighted

Date: 02/25/2015

Number: 3

This week I am still seeing my two adult males. The weather is warming up and they have been at the feeders less, perhaps they are bugging more, packing on the weight.

The one that I have been reporting as a female Ruby may not be a Ruby at all. I had posted it on a Facebook site and the guy who manages it posted back that he thought it was a female Black-chinned because the wings looked blunt and not as pointed. I have always thought this one looked different than the other females I have had but I am not versed enough on the other species, other than Rufous to know what to look for. However, she is still here and doing well.
