I have never had Monarchs in my yard before, therefore I planted as many monarch attracting plants I read about. Putting in Calif. milkweed (several) lilac, sage. In January I noticed one large monarch. Was very pleased and several weeks later I noticed a tiny larva. As days paced there were many large adults flying about and feeding on the plants. On close examination of plant, looking for my larva I discovered 4 additional in different sizes.
