At the Ridge Reservoir yesterday we found some open water and first-of-year Redheads (8) and Lesser Scaup (3). It is the earliest I have seen these two species in southern Alberta. There were also over 100 Common Goldeneye and hundreds of Canada Geese. At the outflow for the reservoir we found approximately 80 Tundra Swans, again the earliest I have seen them in this area.
