Bald Eagle
Sightings report image

Date: 03/04/2015

Number: 1

Spotted a Bald Eagle on top of a seventy foot tall eucalyptus tree across the street from PacSun in Anaheim, California. There are many reservoirs and lakes surrounding this area which are stocked year-round with fish, witch tend to attract birds of prey. Several of my coworkers saw the Eagle, as it flew from on treetop to another, with its unmistakable markings - White head and tail, and brown body. I have spotted many Bald Eagles in my life, as well as other rare birds such as California Condors (In the Grand Canyon). I am very familiar with Bald Eagles, and have spent a lot of time in both Alaska and British Colombia, where they are normally spotted. I have searched and not noticed any other sightings of Bald Eagles in Orange County, but I know they live in the mountains and on Catalina, which is only a few miles away.
